Furniture Store Fire In Philly Under Control

PHILADELPHIA — A large fire at a Philadelphia furniture store was placed under control after dozens of firefighters battled the blaze.

The fire broke out at about noon at a furniture store at 4th and Huntingdon streets in Kensington, according to the Philadelphia Fire Department.

Officials said the fire was raised to two alarms about half an hour after firefighters got the call.

More than 100 members of the fire department were on scene working to quell the blaze.

The fire was placed under control by about 1:30 p.m., fire officials said.

It’s unclear if anyone was hurt in the fire or how the fire started.
